Real Rock 'n Roll. Period.

Long Version:
NEW ALBUM: "We knew we had put out a real rock 'n' roll record with our debut album, and we knew the second album would need to build on that...more muscle. We wanted it to sound 'savage' in a 'black leather jacket' kind of way." The result, 'Ain't Dead Yet', is a collection of 11 blistering, groove-based rock 'n' roll songs
THE GROOVE: The New Old is about the roll in rock 'n' roll. It's about the groove. Gritty, greasy brand new, old school kind of rock 'n' roll. Classic Rock Magazine has said about the music of The New Old "Proper rough as fu@k Detroit rock n roll...hoodlum guitars propel a Stonesy swagger."
BEGINNINGS: The New Old is built from the past to move strongly into the future. Guitarist Christopher Martin Jones began writing material after his former band Bazooka Jones lost its bass player to cancer. Unwilling to move on without his brother, Jones found solace in writing new material that was gritty, groove heavy and felt like it had been waiting to surface for a long while. Naming the songwriting project simply The Jones, he quickly found himself with three albums worth of material that were getting both airplay and press.
Enter R.A. Taylor, a longtime friend and Detroit performance artist (Satori Circus) Taylor had heard the material and contacted Jones with a pat on the back and offer to do any backup vocals that might add to the project. Jones' reply was more direct and more ambitious: "Fuck back ups, wanna be my Mick Jagger?"
Things began to snowball from there with the addition of Bazooka Jones front person Michele Jones on second vocal and percussion. Bazooka Jones drummer Bill Henrikson had already been involved cutting drums for The Jones project and once Jones found his guitar partner in crime Brandon Trenz, the bass was taken on by Paul Nazilowski.
FIRST ALBUM: The New Old's self-titled debut album is a testament to combining the power of muscular, guitar-driven rock with funky, groove laden rock 'n' roll. It's been received incredibly well by press as well as radio.
